Defibrillator Campaign Backed By Cowbridge MP

Meetings are expected to take place this week with local sports leaders set to discuss a plan to distribute defibrillators around sporting facilities.

Alun Cairns, a local MP, has asked sporting representatives across the vale to back the campaign.

The campaign aims to provide every sporting facility in the Vale with a defibrillator in a bid to improve safety.

Calls for defibrillators to be accessible come after recent events involving 29-year-old Christian Eriksen, the Danish footballer who collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener, and Maqsood Anwar, who collapsed earlier this month whilst playing Cricket.

Defibrillators are devices that send an electric shock or pulse to the heart in a bid to restore a normal heartbeat.
